Rationale of the Cromship Network

 1.    Both society and the medical profession need physicians who function as both clinicians and clinical investigators to fill the gap between those who are pure clinicians and those who are pure scientists.

2.    Many current physician/scientist training programs are focused on training non-clinical basic science investigators, but programs focused on training clinical investigator physician/scientists are few.

3.    Physicians who desire to emerge from their clinical training with the skills needed to become a successful physician/scientist are currently challenged by the number of years and amount of focus required by clinical training.
